Municipal services
Standard household waste (or municipal waste) contains up to 5% of hazardous materials, called Special Household Waste. The nature of Special Household Waste is different from standard municipal waste and its toxicity, flammability, or explosiveness is comparable to similar industrial waste and this is why they require separate collection and expert treatment.
- paints, glues, detergents, stain removers, anti-rust products and other cleaning products
- fluorescent tubes, refrigerators, electronic scrap
- insecticides, pesticides and other gardening products
- solvents, oils, fuel, lubricants, varnish, car-batteries
Based on the contract with the municipality, DETOX provides collection of special household waste , which can be either stationary or mobile.
Within the stationary service, the citizens are encouraged to bring their special waste to the collection centres operated by the Company. This form of collection is organised during the whole year, each working day.
By contrast, the mobile collection is carried out several times a year, according to the contract with the municipality.
Since 2001, we have been implementing this unique system in more than 50 Slovak towns.
